Work as a team.

Help people in need.

Complete a marathon.

On June 11, we'll gather at the Running Brushy Middle School running track and set up team camps (teams can have as few or as many members as they wish). We'll spend the next several hours walking/running around the track. There will be music, snacks, lots of encouragement, and lots of water. As each team member completes a lap, they'll press a lap-counter that keeps track of the team total. When that counter reaches 105, your team has completed a marathon! Congratulations!

Bonus: In addition to completing a marathon, your team also is working together to support missions--both domestic and abroad. This year's sponsored trips will travel to help rebuild Haiti, help needy kids and teens in Russia, and to help people in need in "Little Haiti" in Miami, Florida.
Your registration fee alone supports the trips. However, as you feel led, you are encouraged to get sponsors for your run. There will be prizes for the top 3 individual fundraisers. There will also be a prize for the top team fundraiser. Visit www.highpointyouth.org/m4m.html for sponsor forms.

How to get involved:

   1. Recruit a team of walkers/runners.

   2. Decide on a team name.

   3. Each team member registers individually.

   4. Start training.

   5. Raise additional funds.

   6. Show up on race day.

   7. Go home with a serious sense of accomplishment!

Why Run?

--To accomplish a significant goal as a team.

   --To get a t-shirt.

--To be part of a larger purpose.

   --To have fun!

Why Raise Money?

--To help purchase bricks, tools, and other supplies to help rebuild Haiti.

--To purchase supplies/equipment for kids in Miami.

--To Send people to those in need in Russia, Haiti, and Miami.

What do I bring on race day?

Be dressed ready to spend the day walking/running around the track. Also bring a water bottle, sunscreen, towel, hat, sunglasses, chair, blanket, camera, and all additional funds that you've raised for the event.

When is the Official Start Time?

Official Start Time is 7:00am. But teams can start at any time between 7:00am and 9:00am.

What is the role of the Team Captain?

Team Captains recruit a team of willing participants to work together to do two things: (1) Run a marathon and (2) raise much-needed funds for the sponsored missions. They also act as the point-person with M4M event organizers. They also will be their teams' primary coach and encourager!

What is the role of the other team members?

Work together with your team to complete your 105 laps!  Also, raise funds to help people in Haiti, Miami, and in Russia. When race day arrives, team members will help each other as needed. It’s also important to remember to hit the lap counter each time around!

Whether you’re there just because you love to run or because you are soon to be a participant in one of the mission trips, we hope you have a fun day and realize how much you’re helping others just by being there.

FYI—All funds raised by M4M participants will go directly to supporting the missions trips and trip participants directly.

Thank you for being involved!

Why a $26 registration?

Because this is a marathon! 26 miles, 26 bucks.

How many laps does it take to run a marathon on a running track?

105 laps is 26.25 miles...just over the 26.2 of an official marathon.

What's provided in my registration cost?

T-shirt, snacks, venue, music, new friends, old friends, and water/ice provided throughout the day.

Are there any age restrictions?

No. Although children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Also, adults over the age of 95 must be accompanied by a child.

Will I have to sign a waiver?

Yes. And all children under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent/legal guardian. The Under-18 Waiver form can be downloaded at www.highpointyouth.org/m4m.html.

Are there minimum or maximum numbers on team size?

No. If someone wants to run/walk the entire marathon as a single-person team, go for it. If a team feels like they need 25 members, that's cool too. It's all about "going the distance."

Can members of our team run at the same time?

Yes! Although your team needs to remember that the goal is to have at least one person running/walking at all times.

Will this event be timed?

No. This is not a race between teams. Run/walk as hard or as fast as you want, but please be respectful of others and of the nature of this event.

What else do I need to know?

This is a family event. We will do our best to communicate that walkers need to stay in the outside lanes (leaving the inner lanes for runners); however, a lot of grace needs to be shown if someone forgets.
